We recently made the decision to re-schedule our datathon and announced the new launch date as September 12th. The challenge will be redesigned and relaunched on this date. The decision was driven by the need to ensure a high-quality experience for all participants. While the rescheduling of the challenge was a difficult decision, it was necessary to ensure a high-quality experience for all participants. The upcoming weeks will be dedicated to refining the challenge and thoroughly testing the platform to avoid similar issues in the future. We appreciate the patience and understanding of all participants and look forward to a successful challenge launch on September 12th.
We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the 430 participants who registered for the VN1 Forecasting - Accuracy Challenge Phase 1. Your enthusiasm and commitment to this challenge mean a great deal to us.
We also want to express our deep appreciation to our sponsors—Flieber, SyrupTech, and SupChains. You had every right to be disappointed by the unexpected rescheduling, but your understanding and continued support have been invaluable. We look forward to launching on September 12th and delivering the high-quality event you all deserve.
What happened:
Due to recent upgrades to our platform, we encountered unforeseen compatibility issues. The timing of these upgrades did not allow for sufficient testing of all types of datathons, particularly those that were requiring unique customisations that were not fully supported by our existing ML (Machine Learning) endpoints structure. These issues could have negatively impacted the participants' experience during the challenge.
The DataSource.ai platform was upgraded shortly before the challenge was scheduled to take place. This upgrade included changes that were necessary for long-term improvements but required more extensive testing.
To prevent similar issues in the future, the following measures will be implemented:
